Equality in employment for people with disabilities

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 defines a disabled person as someone with a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term effect on their ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

CITR wishes to be recognised by the community as a Company that provides good employment opportunities for people with disabilities and we wish individuals who apply to us for placements to know that they will receive fair treatment and be considered solely on their ability to do the job.

If an existing employee, whether they be contract or permanent, becomes disabled, we will make every effort to retrain and retain them within the company in which they were placed, wherever reasonable and practicable.

CITR believes that everyone benefits from a working environment where respect for the individual is encouraged and if job applicants feel they have been treated in a way that is contrary to this Policy the issue should be dealt with by a Senior Manager, or directly by personnel if that person is in a permanent role or if they are a contractor, by the Company concerned and CITR.

CITR will make every effort to secure a satisfactory resolution.
