Job Title:	C++ / Agile Software Engineer
Location:	Cambridge
Start Date:	June/July 2009
Duration:	Permanent
Salary/Rate:	Up to £50,000 basic salary plus benefits

As a C++ Senior Software Engineer you will join a new team with a view to lead the development of the products, in addition to releasing the current software successfully, this will be followed by architecting and expanding the product in areas such as new data mining algorithms, visualization, sharing across networks and becoming a client / server model. As a C++ Developer you will be self sufficient, confident and competent, initially you will take some guidance from the current Software Engineer but then you will take the lead. As a C++ Developer it is essential that you have the right attitude and personality to lead and help grow the team, this will include hiring team members and leading the team. Initially your time will be spent as follows: 30% on design, 40% on implementation, 20% on testing and 10% on documentation.

For this role ideally you will have a 2:1 in a relevant subject and excellent C++ application experience working with event driven GUIs coupled with the ability to significantly influence on how products are implemented and contribute to the direction of the features of future software releases. As a C++ Software Engineer you will have real focus on application development, with experience of building real pieces of software with visualization and database functionality which the customers can use intuitively. The new software that is developed will include new functionalities of the products, there is huge scope for using web technologies, such as client server, improved and sophisticated visualization methods, and implementation of new and complex mathematical algorithms (though excellent if the developer can develop these, the focus is on the implementation).  Strong numerical skills will be important.
