Job Title:

Technical Author – Corporate Key Controls Project

Location:

London Paddington

Start Date:
ASAP
Duration:
8-10 weeks max (project closes 30th Sept 2011), 5 days a week.
Salary/Rate:
£400 Per Day

Job Purpose

  • To support the development and publication of Corporate Key Controls and any associated publications and provide technical writing support services to staff and members as appropriate.

The Corporate Key Controls are the global set of information security Policies and. The Corporate Key Controls as a comprehensive system of internal controls established for the protection of information and systems, and are aligned with the industry best practice and regulation (i.e. ISO 27001 international standard for Information Security Management, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and the Data Protection Act

Core Task:

•      Create and modify publications for which the CKC Project team is responsible

  • Gathering all information required from subject matter experts across the business, compile and translate it in clear, concise yet comprehensive and accurate written statements which combined in an organised and logical way, will constitute the new version for the Corporate Key Controls document .
  • Update documentation tracking system with any changes made where appropriate

Essential Skills

  • Proven technical writing skills over a period of at least 1-2 years. 
  • Proven communication skills.
  • Excellent written English and eye for detail.
  • Experience of analysing and writing of documentation within technical or non-technical environments.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and unambiguous language to a non-technical audience.
  • Tenacity and the ability to drive issues through to resolution.

Beneficial Skills:

  • Policy authoring experience or experience in writing Operating Regulations very desirable
  • Familiarity with writing for an audience for whom English is a second language

Education/Qualifications: 

  • Degree or equivalent.
  • Technical authoring and publishing qualifications
