Job Description:

Major finance/banking organisation with a global brand is looking for a 1st line support team lead to run a shift of operations engineers in a busy data centre environment. To be suitable you must have worked in a highly available, mission critical data centre environment and be capable of controlling a massive enterprise. These are critical real time systems that need quick and permanent fixes to any service effecting incidents.

You must be comfortable working in a rotating shift environment…You must also be able to manage BAU activities including staff absences.

Essential experiences include:

• Solid Cisco experience covering a range of switches and routers
• In-depth understanding of network trouble shooting
• Excellent network protocol knowledge (do you know your UDP from your TCP), DNS, IP subnets…etc
• Knowledge of Remedy or similar systems as well as change management tools
• Knowledge of ITIL and proven ability to deliver in a service focused culture.
• Excellent management skills and clear communicator (to all levels within the business both technical and non-technical) In short you must be credible…
• Wide OS skills covering UNIX and WinTel

It is also expected that you will have great interpersonal skills and be able to work with specialist teams supporting Solaris, AIX and other technologies.
