Job Description:

These are 24x7 positions working in a busy data centre environment; you will be tasked with monitoring systems, checking logs and ensuring that nothing effects the service to business users. The more senior positions will entail analysing message flows, log files, and impact to service, with problem resolution or escalation.

It is essential that you have UNIX (Solaris or AIX) experience and have carried out administration in the past. You must have enterprise experience ideally in a financial or banking organisation.
Due to the rolling shifts required you must be flexible and committed to the opportunity. Training will be provided in a range of enterprise management tools and systems if required (Websphere MQ, Tivoli, Connect:Direct, ControlM). This will enable you to develop within the company and perform the role to your best ability.

For the more senior roles within the team scripting and experience with C++ is essential.
Essential skills:

• Support experience in mission/time critical enterprise environments
• UNIX administration experience (or certification)
• Scripting or C++ programming experience (for senior positions)
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment with 15 minute time to fix escalations
• Problem or call management software such as Remedy…

Useful experiences would include Banking/Finance operations experience. Also exposure to Websphere, Tivoli, ControlM or Connect:Direct or similar tools.
