Job Description:
This leading financial organisation has a requirement for a Clearing & Settlement Application Development Release Manager. You will be working with a range of business areas to deliver code releases into the organisation.
Your Key Responsibilities will be:
- Manage, prioritise and control incoming work loads
- Gather estimates from across the team for each business requirement and assist with scoping a release with respect to scheduling resources against capacity plans.
- Responsible for the day-to-day project management of scheduled releases including:
- Planning
- Monitoring
- Status reporting (scheduled and on-demand)
- Managing dependencies, issues and risks and associated mitigation strategies
- Managing project budgets
- Interface with IT PMO and other teams along with upstream and downstream applications to ensure interoperability
- Work closely with all the team managers across analysis, development, system test, centralised testing, configuration management and deployment to ensure deliverables are progressing and any issues are dealt with or escalated
- Co-ordinate requests for Development and Test environments and the promotion of code
- Participate in the Command Centres for go-live and bi-annual release implementation
- Adhere to formalised Company project control processes and procedures
Key Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Experience of delivering software systems within the RUP methodology
- Significant knowledge and experience of the software development life-cycle
- Exposure to and knowledge of Java and Websphere
- Prince2 certification
- Niku workbench and/or Microsoft project
- Knowledge of clearing and settlement
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- The ability, resilience and diplomacy to deal with and resolve conflict
